Homesickforeverywhere.com is a personal travel blog. I created this blog mainly as a hobby to amuse myself, but I also aim to inform and inspire the people who visit the website. The contact form can be used to contact me directly through the website. Alternatively, you can also email me at nes@homesickforeverywhere.com. In both cases, I’ll be able to see your name, email address and the content of your message. This information may be used to answer your message.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to analyse your behavior on this website with the aim to improve the site. Using IP addresses, I can see from which country people are visiting my blog, which pages they view and for how long the average visitor stays. The collected data contains global geographical information. No personal data is stored that can be used to identify an individual. I took the necessary steps to anonymize your IP address by removing the last 3 digits before the IP address is stored.

Sensitive personal data

Homesick for Everywhere does not knowingly collect any personal information from underage minors without the consent of their parents or legal guardian. It is however not possible to check whether or not a visitor is a minor. If you believe we might have collected any information from a minor without parental consent, please contact me at nes@homesickforeverywhere.com, so I can delete that information.

Homesick for Everywhere does not keep your personal information for longer than it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, unless there is a legal obligation.

If you want to remove a comment from the website, mail your request to nes@homesickforeverywhere.com. If you are subscribed to the newsletter, your email address is kept for as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter. You can unsubscribe using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter or by sending an email to nes@homesickforeverywhere.com. Emails with questions will be kept for up to one year.

Sharing of personal information with third parties

Homesick for Everywhere does not sell or rent personal information to third parties and will only disclose your information to comply with any legal obligaton. Additionally, the website may share your information with third-party processors in order to service various aspects of the site.

The website currently uses the following third-party service providers:

Bluehost – Homesick for Everywhere is hosted by the American company Bluehost. All data of this website is stored on the company’s servers in the United States (Provo, Utah). Bluehost has multiple European clients and took the necessary steps to be GDPR compliant.

Google Analytics – This website uses Google Analytics to analyse visitor statistics. I signed a data processing agreement with Google for this purpose. The data collected by Google is stored on a server in the United States. For more information I refer you to Google’s privacy policy. Homesick for Everywhere has anonymized the collected IP addresses so that they are not personally identifiable. I do not share any personal information with Google and I haven’t given Google permission to use the collected information for their other services.

Automattic – Homesick for Everywhere shares certain information with Automattic, such as your IP address and browser user agent. This information is used to reduce spam (Akismet) and to track certain statistics about the website (Jetpack). Automattic will store the collected data for approximately 30 days and will only use it for the above mentioned goals. For more information I refer you to Automattic’s privacy notice.
